Sunday Hike

I had a great day today hiking with my pal, Stacey and her boyfriend, Reuben. We drove to Lynn Valley and went hiking through the trails and over the Suspension Bridge. It was a gorgeous day, so obviously the place was milling with people; tourists and locals. It was the perfect thing to do on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Then we hit up Commercial Drive for the best salami sandwich ever, at an Italian bakery. Yummmmmy!

Good Start

Well, it has been a great start to the week. First of all, I ran 20 miles with my brother Jordan yesterday, and I did not die. I’m feeling more positive everyday about this marathon “stuff” (Translation: BAD-ASS hardcore training!). Second of all, the Canucks won Game 3 last night in Dallas, 2-1 in Overtime, creating a 2-1 lead in the series. The best part was that it was only about 7 minutes into O.T. and not FOUR periods! Thank God for Taylor Pyatt. Oh yes, and the wall, Roberto Luongo. I slept well. And lastly, today was my first day of work as a Marketing Assistant! Yay! I’m a big girl now! I have business cards and everything.:)

Let’s hope it only gets better from here! Ciao!

Running over Easter

Not even an Easter long weekend at home in Powell River could have stopped my brother and I from sticking to our rigorous training schedule. We ran a 14 mile /23 km run that took us all over town, up and down hills, through bushes and trails, and also through a lot of different neighbourhoods that brought back a ton of memories. My mom also even came for a short portion of the run with us! (She’s training for her 15th consecutive Vancouver Sun Run) Although we have run longer distances, this run, on different terrain, caused us to be a little more stiff and sore than usual. On the home stretch, my brother Wes caught a few pictures of Jordan and I running up our street. Here’s one of them below:

It was a great weekend in Powell River with the family, even though the ferries almost ruined it on the way up! We had a wicked time coming home, though. Props to Wes for driving like a bat out of hell to get to Langdale on time! First car from Earl’s Cove at the ferry terminal! Way to “Shock the house”, big bro!!
